There are many Community Desks around NSW most operating on a regular weekly basis with either one or two JP's.  All these Volunteers have contributed a significant amount of their time with a total of 30,535 JP hours in 2025  and donating income at an estimated cost of $761,848 collectively.

Stat Decs, Affidavits, Certification and more

A NSW JP will process or witness a number of documents on each shift on a Community Desk. Standard documents include certifying copies, witnessing a Statutory Declaration, Witnessing Affidavits and Annexures and various other such as Divorce Affidavits, Probate  an sometimes more complex matters.  There were 504,667 documents processed in 2025

During 2025, The community desks throughout NSW serviced a total of 159,503 clients.  There were 504.667 documents processed and the volunteer JP's donated 30,535 hours of their time across all the Community Desks. These figures do not include and statistic outside of the NSW Justices Association guidelines

Conflict of Interest

The NSW Justices Association Inc.provides clear guidelines and training to help JPs identify and effectively manage situations that might lead to conflicts of interest. By adhering to these guidelines, JPs ensure that their actions are fair and are perceived as fair by the public, thereby upholding the integrity of their office.

This practice helps maintain public trust in the legal system and protects the reputation of the JPs themselves

Recognition from A Member of Parliament

More than 40 Justice of the Peace (JP) volunteers gathered on 4 July 2025 in the stately Jubilee Room at NSW Parliament House
For a special event hosted by Jordan Lane, Member for Ryde, to honour the efforts of JPs in the Ryde community. The gathering was also attended by the Mayor of Ryde, who joined in acknowledging the volunteers’ contributions. Guests were treated to refreshments and a warm and welcoming atmosphere of appreciation and camaraderie.  Words of Gratitude from Leaders Jordan Lane MP opened the ceremony with an expression of deep appreciation: “You’re a trusted point of contact for people navigating significant moments—legal, personal, and sometimes emotional. What you do matters. And we’re here today to say thank you.” The Mayor followed with a heartfelt welcome: “Our Community is stronger because of people like you. Your service may be quiet, but it’s powerful, consistent, and deeply valued.”
